sleep. . . I miss you.

I never realized how much I loved sleep until I had Fisher. Chris has been working on putting in new hardwood floors so I thought that I would get out of the house with Fisher over the weekend to give him some time to work in peace. We went out to Beachwood and shopped all day Saturday. He flirted with everyone at the mall and we had a great but exhausting day. The next day I needed to get out again so I took him grocery shopping in the morning and then we decided to go to Target. I wanted him to fall asleep and get a good nap so I drove around for a little bit and then I realized that I was really tired too. So, I went to Target and parked in the parking lot and just laid down in the car too for like an hour. Seriously, that's a little weird.
Then, today Fisher woke up bright and early at 4:30 and was wide awake after I fed him. I brought him downstairs to play and he was kind of crabby and rubbing his eyes. Since I knew he was tired but wouldn't go back to sleep on his own, I stuck him in his carseat and drove around at 5:00 in the morning. He fell asleep about 25 mins later so I went home, kept him in his carseat and put him in his room. I promptly went back to bed where Chris's alarm went off three times (and then he turned it off and stayed in bed) and Chopper was breathing so loud that it was hard to sleep. Maybe I should have just stayed in the car with Fisher.
Here are a few pics of Fisher holding himself up. He loves walking around with us holding his hands and standing up holding onto something. I'll post some videos later. But for now, I'm going to sleep. . . in my bed.

changes more everyday

I went to pick up Fisher today and he looked different than he did when I dropped him off 9 hours earlier. It's like he transformed in just one day. . . his sitter said that he looks different to her every day. I think that he gets it from Chris. A co-worker once told him that he looked different everyday, like a hollywood actor. I wonder who Chris will look like tomorrow-maybe David Beckham? that would be nice.

happy birthday to Chris

Chris turned 31 yesterday. Happy birthday to the best husband and dad ever. Fishy and I are lucky to have him.
here's the birthday boy. . . isn't he cute?

update

I feel like I haven't had a moment to just sit down and write about what's been going on with Fisher. Chris was out of town and Fisher wasn't sleeping well. Thursday night I took his temperature again because he just wasn't himself. Once again, his temperature was really high and the doctors office told us to go into the E.R. So, Chris got to come home straight from the airport to the hospital. Turns out the medicine didn't take care of the ear infections the first time so we got some stronger stuff. I have my fingers crossed that this stuff works! Being in the E.R. sure does make you grateful for what you have though. . .
Fisher has been really frustrated with wanting to move and do the next thing. He hasn't figured out the crawling thing but he rolls around like crazy. We bought him a jumper thing so that he could get some bouncing around. He seems to really like it. He started pulling himself up now and can get all the way to his feet. Luckily he can't get to his butt from laying down so we have a little while until he's completely dangerous! But if you put him on his butt in the crib or something he pulls himself all the way up and gets so proud of himself, it's really cute.
I think that he's starting to get cabin fever from the long winter, just like the rest of us. He's so happy when he can just get out and about. Riding in carts at the stores like a big kid gets him really excited. He looks around at everything and smiles at everyone. I like to see how his smile can make everyone else happy too.
