This Safari park was absolutely hilarious! I think that I had just as much fun, if not more, than Fisher. The animals are everywhere (I'll have to add pics of that later-these were the only ones easily accessible). This giraffe just popped his head right in the sunroof. I looked away after giving him the first carrot and looked back just in time to see a huge black tongue in my face. It freaked me out! Fisher would say hi to the buffalo and then immediately say bye to them when they got too close. He sat on my lap and cracked up. It was nice to get a little special time with Fisher too!

Family Update

It's been a crazy few weeks so I haven't been very good about getting an update out there on what's going on with Perry. . . well, the good news is that he's home!! He came home last Wednesday and after a frustrating first night of bad feeds he's doing really well. We went to our first doctors appointment outside of the NICU on Friday and she said he looks good but he was lighter on their scale then he was two days earlier at the NICU. So, we have a weigh in tomorrow morning during Fisher's 2 year appointment. The other immediate follow up we have right now is weekly bloodwork to check his red blood cell count and the percentage of new red blood cells that he is making. We had some initial bloodwork done on Friday and the levels weren't much higher than before so we need to keep getting them checked.

The services that are provided to us through our insurance and the hospital have been really great and we're looking forward to having the support system over the next few years. They have a program that comes to the house to work on milestones and people that check in on us and make things easier. This paired with our family and friends make things a lot less stressful. Hopefully it will just be an extended newborn time period and nothing else! We're just over 2 weeks away from our original due date which is crazy to think about. I wanted nothing to do with bed rest but looking back now I could have been lounging around eating bon bons and watching the real housewives while getting paid by disability! Crazy how things work out but I have loved every moment with Perry so far and it's especially nice to be able to have him home with us and hold him and kiss him whenever we want.

Fisher has been so cute with Perry. He kisses him on the forehead and then says, "momma turn" and I have to kiss Perry on the forehead too. He asks all the time where he went when he can't see him and so far seems to not be bothered by the time that we spend holding him and attending to him.

On top of all of that happening last week we had Fisher's 2nd birthday party on Saturday. His real birthday was on Sunday. He has grown up so much over the last few months. He is talking is full sentences (broken a little) and understands when you reason with him or give him directions. It's so cute because he could be asking for something a hundred times and you say, "Fisher I just need five minutes and then I'll do it" and he'll just say "otay" and be satisfied. And you have to hear how he says it because it's the cutest thing ever. He has been so sweet lately but does have his moments of terrible twos, usually over going outside or bedtime. I love the extra time I'm getting with him. Every moment of the day I just want to sqeeze him, he's just at this really cute stage that I love so much. He's funny and crazy and all boy. I can just imagine him and Perry wrestling around in a few years. It's going to be great.

We think he looks like Fisher here.
