dear fisher
dear fisher,
it's not ok to tackle other babies and shake them, even if you are bigger than them. you need to learn to play nice with other kids.
i love you,
mom
Today when I picked Fisher up from the sitter he was just sitting at the table with all of the other kids. He was in one of those chairs that attaches to the table so it looked like he was just hanging out with all the other kids. I had to do a double take just to recognize him. He was watching them all eat pizza with envy.
I was talking to Christine before leaving and she told me that Fisher tackled the other baby the other day and just laid on top of him and shook up up and down. I guess we shouldn't play so rough with him at home! When Christine was telling me the story one of the little girls said, "yea, they don't really get along." haha. I would love to see how these two 7 month olds interact. I bet it's pretty entertaining. But I hope that Fisher is nice to Ty because I really don't want to raise a bully!
These last couple days have been so great. Fisher is feeling a lot better so we have our happy baby back! He's been sleeping through the night really well again so we are all getting better sleep! Sleep is good . . .

Fisher growed 2 ear infections
"fisher growed" is my new favorite phase. I get really hooked on annoying things and so I'm sure Chris is already sick of this phrase. I know it's hard to believe that I could be annoying :) but it's true. Chris cringes at my stories of me and my brother and sister in the car, fighting over our personal space. Let's pray that if we do have another one, Fisher and "other unique name" take on the relationship of Chris and Mara(think Brady Bunch) instead of my family (think the Simpsons). Notice I said "unique name". My favorite thing to do now is watch the reactions of strangers when I tell them that his name is Fisher. "oh, that's different" is usually the response. My hair dresser told me that we should name our next one "Forrest" which I actually didn't think was that funny, if she had said "Hunter" of "Gatherer" I would have been right there with her.
Did I mention that Chris told me he didn't get ear infections as a kid so this must be another thing that he gets from me. So, if I were to start a list of things that he gets from me there would be 1) my sensitive skin, 2) ear infections. Not a long list, but so far we think he's pretty perfect and we can guess where all of that comes from :)
Anyways, I had a reason for this blog. Along with the 2 teeth that Fisher growed, he also growed 2 ear infections. Poor guy! No wonder he has been sleeping so bad and shaking his head. I just thought that he was saying no to everything that I said. Like "do you love daddy more than me?" haha, just kidding. I guess we're lucky that he's gone this long and had very little sickness.
On that subject, I want to put out there for everyone to keep our beauiful little niece, Brooklyn in their prayers. She also had 2 ear infections that turned into RSV(that's probably not medically correct-but you get it). She's in good hands now at the hospital. We just want her to know that we're thinking about her and hoping she feels better soon!
isn't he starting to look different? i swear he isn't always as dirty as in the pics i post!!

Fisher growed a tooth
My heart always skips a beat when I'm at work and I see a text or call from Christine, Fisher's sitter. So, yesterday I was in a meeting and had just started talking to a table of people when I hear a little beep on my phone. I reach down to check it out and I see a text from Christine, oh no! Then I open it and it's a picture of Fisher, soaked in drool of course, smiling at the camera. Below it read, "Mommy do u know I have a tooth now?" Of course I couldn't keep it to myself and had to tell everyone in the room, hoping that the tears stinging my eyes would stay put. They did, and the one woman declared, "aww, you just had a moment with everyone."
The title of this entry is because when I went to pick up Fisher I walked in the door and the first girl that saw me screamed "Fisher growed a tooth today!" and then the next one I saw yelled "Fisher growed a tooth today!" It was really cute that they were almost as excited as I was for one of his milestones. I remember when Fisher sat up for the first time at Christine's. Her daughter Finley told me, "Fisher sat on his butt today." Kids are hilarious.
Of course, me being me, I had two thoughts later. One being that they should have said "Fisher grew a tooth"(ok, i thought that the second they said it) and the second was that I couldn't see the tooth at first glance and had to feel for it soI hope that they just took Christine's word for it and didn't try to feel for the tooth themselves.
The second tooth came today. . . and the poor guy seems in pain.
here's a pic of Fisher in his legwarmers and drool. I just noticed the raised eyebrow too

rainforest & sleding
Here's some pics from the rainforest at the zoo and sleding in the backyard. The rainforest trip was more for Chris I think, we had been laying around the house over vacation a lot since we both were sick so we just needed to get out of the house. Fisher really wasn't too interested in much. He did notice the really big turtles and fish though :) We took the sled out in the backyard after work one day this week. He had a lot of fun! He loves the thrill of going fast, our new game is running through the parking lot in the shopping cart while I scream like it's so scary. He cracks up and I'm sure the people that see me think I'm crazy. Actually Chris did say that the little kids I passed tonight at Walmart were laughing at me. I should be embarrassed that I got laughed at by someone at our Walmart but I'm not for some reason. It kills two birds with one stone, it make Fisher laugh and it gets us inside quickly when it's cold.
This top pic is just because I think he looks cute in his little collared shirt.

dear Fishboy
dear Fishboy,
2010 is officially in full swing-back to work, back to daycare. It felt like I was back at square one with leaving you after having 11 days straight with you. You must have had a new year's resolution to be even happier than you were in 2009 because you have been off the walls with shrieks, smiles, and laughter. Every day I get excited picking you up, knowing that you will be so happy to play and hang out. I truly love those couple hours after work more than any other of the day.
I want to make sure I remember every moment of you at this age. I have the worst memory so by me telling you, I'm really telling myself. Right now you are sitting up on your own for long periods of time, rolling around like crazy, and eating lots of cereal, fruits and veggies. You're starting to discover the sippy cup, but really you just bang it around more than drink from it. You love the song "Wheels on the bus go round and round" -I don't really know if that's the title of the song but work with me. When you are cranky in the car and I start to sing it you get so happy. I hope you remember all of the things on the bus like dogs, cats, dad's that just want beer, etc. It's truly a "special" bus. Growing up papa used to make up songs and sang them around my house and it looks like I"ve adopted that straight.

You're in love with Chopper right now, wanting to always touch him and grab his hair. We're lucky Chopper is a gentle dog since you're a little rough-just like a boy. We can now tell when you are pooping, it's so funny to see your face. It's usually while you're eating or in your jumpy thing.
The most important thing for you to know that is happening right now is that your dad and I fall in love with you more each day.
Love,
Mom

dear fisher
dear fisher,
It's been awhile since I've written you a letter. . . I've already failed at the frequency of which I was going to write you but it's only because I want each letter to say something meaningful and sometimes day to day life can be boring to put into words. But, believe me it's never boring to experience. We've made it to the new year! I can't believe that it's 2010 already. . . I'm sorry that you weren't born in the year 2010, I always found it easier to remember my age because I was born in 1980 :)
Remembering 2009 could take forever. We've had 6 1/2 wonderful months with you. I'd say we've done a pretty good job considering you're the most complicated thing we've dealt with so far and you didn't come with instructions. With only a few bumps and bruises, you are growing strong and are happier than ever. At your 6 month appt you were 18 lbs and right on track with everything. I'm sure that 2010 will bring so many new things to both you and us.
Every new year brings new year resolutions and goals that we all hope to accomplish throughout the year. One of my most important goals is to be the best mom that I can be for you. . . but that's a goal that I'll have every year. Although a lot of my other goals don't directly impact you, they indirectly do because all of them in some way will hopefully make me a happier, healthier person which will in turn make me a better mom. So, life lesson for you. . . make goals in life. They can be big or small, but it's important to have goals (even if we don't always reach them).
As I look forward to the year to come, I can't think of any two people I would want to share the year with more than you and your dad.
I love you,
Mom
happy new year
Fisher got to ring in the new year with the adults! We went to our friends house for a little get together and tried to keep him in his car seat sleeping upstairs. That lasted until about 11:00 and then he woke up and wanted to join the fun. It was fun to have him there to kiss at midnight.
Chris's aunt Holly got Fisher a really cool sled for Christmas, here he is trying it out in the house. We got a lot of snow today so maybe we'll try it out tomorrow! (it's really cold though. . . but I guess if my mom can run 3.1 miles in 9 degree weather I can pull my son around for 10 mins in 20 degree weather).
I just added a couple other random cute ones too. (the pics are all out of order but you can figure out which ones are which. . . i hope).
